Obituary for Jessie R. Sardella

Jessie R. Sardella, 95, of Coatesville died Friday, April 7, 2017. Jessie was born in Downingtown and grew up in Johnsontown, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo “Big Jim” and Elizabeth Lucidi Panetti, and the wife of the late Daniel Sardella. She attended Downingtown High School. Jessie was an active member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Coatesville where she was a member of the Congrega. In 1944, Jessie and Danny were married in Virginia while he was on leave from WWII. Since they were not able to celebrate their wedding with family and friends, they celebrated on their 50th Wedding anniversary at the LGM in Coatesville. Jessie was devoted to the church, her family and friends. She kept alive many of the traditions from her family in Italy. She loved to celebrate the holidays by cooking and baking. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. Jessie is survived by her brother, Ernie Panetti and his wife Peggy of Downingtown; sister-in-law, Rita Sardella of Coatesville; and nephews, whom she loved as her own sons: Albert and his wife Patty, John and his wife Bernadette, Andrew and his wife Karen and Renny and his wife Molly; and many great nieces and nephews. Jessie was looked after daily by neighbors Dawn and Matt Tice and Paul and Sally Kinzey, whom she loved dearly. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her four siblings: Yolanda Marcocci (Pat), Dominic “Mink” Panetti (Mary), Ed Panetti (Betty) and Amelia Mason (Don). Jessie’s funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 10:30 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Coatesville. Visitation will be held from 9-10am. Interment will be at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Coatesville. In her memory, contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville, PA 19320.
