Obituary for Diane Lynn Mahan

Diane L. Mahan, 65, of Honey Brook died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at her home.

Born in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Raymond and Thelma Hannah Bildleman Starkweather, and the wife of Robert Allen Mahan with whom she shared 40 years together. Diane was the youngest of 8 siblings. She raised her family in West Chester, PA; spent her retirement years in Newphane, NY; and recently returned to Pennsylvania to be close to her family.

Diane loved being a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, and gardening. She was a loving, caring and giving person, who always thought of others before herself. She will be most remembered for her nurturing nature and her inviting positive outlook that uplifted the spirits of everyone that shared her life. She was deeply loved by all those whose lives she has touched, and she will be lovingly remembered by all. She was truly an exceptionally wonderful woman.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Andrea Weathers of Lancaster, and Jennifer Dilks (Brian) of King of Prussia; and Adam Blackman (Dena Cooper) of Pottstown; Robert A. Mahan, Jr. (Melissa) of Honey Brook; Crystal Gill (Kevin) of Coatesville; Michael Mahan of Thorndale; 18 Grandchildren Jerrell, Jianna, and Jalayna Weathers; Alyssa and Brayden Dilks; Liliana and Quinten Blackman; Jessica Plank, Brianna and Crystal Mahan; Tiffany Mahan, Heather, Kevin and Katie Gill; Allison and Alicia Mahan; and Jacob and Julie Mahan; 6 Great-grandchildren: Stephen Hall, Jr. Shylah Thomas, and Sariah Delgado-Rivera; Caylee Mahan; and Anthony and Ryan Mahan; and one sister, Bonnie.

In addition to her parents, Diane was pre-deceased by her 6 siblings: Donald Starkweather, Joanne Kaufman, Gerald Starkweather, Gail Neal, David Starkweather, and Jean Gehl; and
by her daughter, Denise Mahan Doubts.

Diane’s funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018, beginning with visitation at 1:00pm and services at 2:30pm at Wentz Funeral Home, 342 E. Chestnut Street, Coatesville 610-384-0318.
